- New construction of an acetylene plant
- Customer: BASF SE Ludwigshafen
- Task: 3D preliminary planning; scaffolding management; BIM; training courses
At its Ludwigshafen site, BASF built a world-scale production plant for acetylene, which went into operation at the end of 2019. This plant supplies the approximately 20 production facilities at the same site that use acetylene as a raw material for many other products.
The built-up area covered 5.5 hectares, and the finished plant is up to 90 metres high. As a reliable partner, we took on the development and implementation of an innovative, BIM-based scaffolding concept for building lot 2.
Our role as a partner
Our comprehensive solution included scaffolding management, 3D planning, coordination and execution, ensuring forward-looking and interdisciplinary planning.
Through precise planning coordination, automated collision checks and the use of safety checklists and QR codes for object navigation, we created efficient and safe processes. The PERI UP scaffolding system was specifically used to combine maximum flexibility with consistently high safety standards.
Within this framework, up to 120 scaffolders were trained, coordinated and managed, and all relevant work was closely monitored.
